Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative and surgical treatments
- Perform digital radiography and chairside dental imaging
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilization procedures
- Take accurate dental impressions and fabricate temporary crowns
- Administer nitrous oxide sedation monitoring (certification provided)
- Manage patient flow and optimize chair turnover efficiency
- Maintain digital dental records using Eaglesoft software
- Train new dental assistants on practice protocols
Qualifications
- Accredited Dental Assistant Diploma or Certificate
- Current Louisiana Dental Assistant license
- 2+ years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Certification in nitrous oxide monitoring
- Proficiency with digital imaging systems (Sirona, Dexis)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Exceptional patient communication skills
