Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring instruments are ready and maintaining a sterile field.
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, explain procedures, and provide post-operative care instructions.
- Radiography: Take and develop high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral images accurately.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization and disinfection of instruments and operatory rooms.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient records, update electronic health records (EHR), handle insurance verification, and process payments.
- Inventory Management: Monitor supply levels and order necessary dental materials and equipment.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current California Dental Assistant License (RDA) or Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) certification preferred.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical dental assisting experience preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift equipment, and perform fine motor skills.
