Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following OSHA guidelines
- Take and develop dental radiographs with precision and patient comfort in mind
- Manage patient flow and maintain accurate electronic health records
- Provide chairside support during procedures including suctioning and instrument transfer
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide oxide under dentist supervision
- Oversee inventory management and supply ordering for clinical operations
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification from accredited provider
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
