Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures, ensuring proper instrument transfer and patient comfort.
- Patient Preparation: Prepare treatment rooms, select and arrange instruments, and ensure all equipment is sterilized and functioning correctly.
- Dental Radiography: Take and develop high-quality digital X-rays (intraoral and extraoral) while adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict infection control standards and sterilization procedures in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient records, update electronic health records (EHR), and assist with insurance verification and billing inquiries.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans in a clear and friendly manner.
- Front Desk Support: Greet patients, check them in/out, and assist with scheduling appointments as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program is required.
- Licensure: Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Assistant License (if applicable in NV) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical dental assisting experience preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) and digital X-ray systems is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Interpersonal: A friendly, professional demeanor with a genuine passion for helping patients.
