Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist chairside during examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms following strict OSHA and infection control guidelines.
- Take and develop high-quality dental X-rays (panoramic, periapical, bitewing) and digital impressions.
- Manage patient records, update charts, and handle insurance verification accurately.
- Provide chair-side support, including suctioning, rinsing, and lighting.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the clinical floor.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene techniques.
Qualifications
- Current DANB certification or valid State of Michigan Dental Assistant license.
- CPR and BLS certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association).
- Previous experience in a general dentistry setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Curve Dental).
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
