Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside duties: instrument transfer, suction management, and patient positioning
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital sensors
- Manage sterilization protocols and infection control procedures per OSHA standards
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure optimal inventory of dental supplies
- Delicate patient education on post-procedure care and oral hygiene
- Coordinate patient scheduling and maintain accurate digital records
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification or X-ray license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1+ years of clinical experience in a general or specialty practice
- Proficiency in dental software (Dentrix/Eaglesoft preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of infection control and HIPAA compliance
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance record
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physically demanding tasks
