Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and surgeries with precision and efficiency.
- Instrument Preparation: Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment, strictly adhering to OSHA and CDC safety protocols.
- Diagnostics: Take and develop high-quality digital X-rays (OPG, Periapical) and process them for the dentist's review.
- Patient Management: Greet patients warmly, explain procedures, and provide post-operative instructions to ensure a comfortable experience.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, update charts, and process insurance claims accurately and on time.
- Office Support: Manage inventory of dental supplies and ensure treatment rooms are clean, organized, and ready for patient use.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current DANB Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Health Safety: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting is highly preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and knowledge of dental terminology.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
