The Role
As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our medical providers are reimbursed accurately and efficiently. You will handle the entire billing cycle, from claim submission to payment collection, while maintaining strict compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient insurance information and eligibility to prevent claim denials.
- Accurately complete and submit medical claims (CMS-1500 forms) to insurance carriers.
- Manage accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding balances, and post payments.
- Ensure all billing activities comply with HIPAA regulations and payer guidelines.
- Collaborate with medical providers and coding teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Generate and analyze monthly billing reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Medical Billing/Coding preferred.
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CPT certification is a significant plus.
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, Athenahealth, or similar platforms).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and insurance representatives.
- Must be detail-oriented and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
