Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures by preparing the operating room and sterilizing instruments.
- Pass surgical instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons during procedures with speed and accuracy.
- Monitor patient vital signs and maintain a sterile field throughout the operation.
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning them, washing and sterilizing the incision site, and covering the patient with sterile drapes.
- Manage operating room inventory, ensuring supplies and equipment are stocked and functioning correctly.
- Document surgical procedures accurately and maintain detailed medical records.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Must be willing to undergo a paid training program and certification process.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer literacy and typing skills.
- Willingness to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- CPR certification preferred but not required (training available).
