Responsibilities
- Assist the Dentist: Provide chair-side assistance during examinations and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization and sanitation of instruments and operatory rooms.
- Digital Imaging: Capture and process high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral photos for accurate diagnosis.
- Patient Management: Greet patients, update medical histories, and prepare treatment plans for discussion with the doctor.
- Operatory Prep: Set up and organize dental instruments, suction units, and lights prior to procedures.
- Administrative Support: Process insurance claims, verify benefits, and manage patient scheduling as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Dental Assistant certification (CDA) preferred but not mandatory for immediate hires.
- Experience: Previous dental assisting experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a quick learning curve.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and/or CPR certification is required.
- Skills: Proficient in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and strong knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills, ability to multitask, and a warm, friendly demeanor toward patients.
- Availability: Must be available to work full-time hours, including some weekends or evenings if required by the practice schedule.
