Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control. You will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring their experience is comfortable and professional from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Support: Assist the dentist chairside during examinations and procedures, anticipating needs and ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Diagnostics: Expose, process, and mount dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately and efficiently.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict adherence to OSHA and CDC guidelines regarding sterilization, sanitation, and cross-contamination prevention.
- Patient Care: Greet patients, update medical histories, and educate them on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Operational Support: Manage the front desk duties, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and managing patient files in the dental software.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and order dental supplies and materials to ensure the practice is always fully stocked.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program is preferred.
- Licensure: Current RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) or DA (Dental Assistant) license in the State of Illinois.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting.
- Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and strong computer skills.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a warm, patient-centric demeanor.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform fine motor tasks with hands and arms.
