Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist and hygienist during examinations, treatments, and procedures with precision and efficiency.
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for treatment, explain procedures, and ensure their comfort throughout the visit.
- Radiography: Perform and process dental X-rays (in accordance with safety and licensing standards).
- Infection Control: Maintain strict sterilization protocols and cross-infection control procedures for all instruments and treatment rooms.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, charts, and treatment histories.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and order dental supplies and materials to ensure the office operates smoothly.
- Front Desk Support: Greet patients, manage phone calls, and assist with scheduling appointments as needed.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification or equivalent state license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical dental assisting experience preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Skills: Proficiency in four-handed dentistry, coronal polishing, and digital X-ray technology.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a friendly, patient demeanor.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain a sterile environment.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program is a plus.
- Availability: Ability to work full-time hours, including occasional evenings or Saturdays.
