Responsibilities
- Chairside assistance during dental procedures including exams, fillings, and extractions
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital radiography systems
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms following OSHA protocols
- Manage patient scheduling, records, and insurance verification
- Provide post-operative instructions and patient education
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of dental supplies
- Maintain HIPAA compliance for all patient data
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification or RDA license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year experience in a general dental practice
- Proficiency with digital X-ray systems (DEXIS, Dexis, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of sterilization protocols and infection control
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- CPR certification (current or obtainable within 30 days)
- Experience with Eaglesoft or DentalEZ software preferred
