Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms following OSHA protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and care
- Manage patient records using advanced dental software (Epic, Dentrix, or similar)
- Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, including suction and instrument transfer
- Administer infection control protocols and maintain sterile environments
- Perform lab tasks such as pouring models, fabricating temporary crowns, and taking impressions
- Deliver exceptional patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Pennsylvania Dental Assistant License required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a general or specialty dental practice
- Proficiency in dental radiography techniques and safety protocols
- Expertise in infection control standards and OSHA compliance
- Strong knowledge of dental materials and chairside procedures
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on patient comfort and anxiety management
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or comparable practice management software
