Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring proper sterilization and preparation of instruments.
- Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) and intraoral photographs.
- Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and tracking treatment plans.
- Perform chair-side assisting tasks such as suctioning, applying rubber dams, and handing instruments.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterilized clinical environment following OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Order and track dental supplies and inventory.
Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Dental Assistant (RDA or equivalent) required.
- Certification in radiography (X-ray) is mandatory.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centric attitude.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a general dentistry practice is preferred.
