Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments and equipment according to strict infection control protocols.
- Take and develop digital X-rays and intraoral photographs.
- Manage patient records, update medical histories, and prepare insurance claim forms accurately.
- Instruct patients on post-operative and oral hygiene instructions.
- Perform coronal polishing and fluoride treatments as directed.
- Monitor inventory of dental supplies and restock as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification or diploma from an accredited Dental Assistant program.
- Current state X-ray license (PA required) and CPR/BLS certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Proficiency with dental software and electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends or evenings if required.
