Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens to laboratory departments following strict protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic documentation systems
- Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA compliance standards
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure seamless patient workflow
- Operate and troubleshoot phlebotomy equipment and supplies
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation and specimen collection
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Excellent venipuncture skills for diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and infection control knowledge
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and reliable transportation
- Pass background check and pre-employment health screening
