Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment rooms in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Assist the dentist chairside during examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
- Take and develop high-quality digital or traditional X-rays (radiographs).
- Manage patient records, update medical histories, and ensure accurate charting.
- Provide excellent patient education and chairside support to ensure comfort.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order necessary materials.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (RDA) or graduation from an accredited dental assisting program.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting preferred.
- CPR/BLS certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform fine motor tasks accurately.
