Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and instruments for patient procedures to ensure a sterile and organized environment.
- Assist the dentist chairside during examinations and treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Take and develop intraoral and extraoral radiographs (X-rays) following strict safety protocols.
- Manage patient records accurately, including updating medical histories and charting treatment notes in our dental software.
- Provide exceptional patient education by explaining post-operative care and oral hygiene instructions.
- Maintain strict infection control standards and sterilization procedures in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Process insurance claims and verify patient benefits to streamline the administrative process.
Qualifications
- Certification or graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program.
- Current Georgia State Dental Assistant license or eligibility to obtain one.
- CPR and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Previous experience in a dental office setting preferred but open to enthusiastic new graduates.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
- Proficiency in using dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) is a plus.
