Responsibilities
- Chair-Side Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and surgeries using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Patient Care: Ensure patient comfort by explaining procedures, answering questions, and providing post-operative instructions.
- Instrument Preparation: Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to strict infection control protocols.
- Diagnostics: Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) and process digital images accurately.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, update medical histories, and process insurance claims efficiently.
- Front Desk Support: Greet patients, manage appointments, and coordinate with the front office team.
- Infection Control: Adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines to ensure a safe environment for staff and patients.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program or equivalent on-the-job training.
- Certification: Current state radiology certification (NYSRAD or state equivalent) and CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience as a dental assistant preferred, but we welcome motivated new graduates.
- Licensure: Valid North Carolina Dental Assistant license required.
- Skills: Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions precisely and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
