Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist chair-side during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials according to infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays (Radiographs) and digital images.
- Take impressions and pour models of teeth for study casts and orthodontic appliances.
- Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update charts electronically.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and order new materials as needed.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in California.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification.
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, OpenDental).
- Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to put patients at ease.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a dental office setting is preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform fine motor tasks.
