Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging materials, and ensuring equipment is sanitized and ready for patient use.
- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing hand instruments, suction, and maintaining a clear field of vision.
- Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) following strict safety and radiation protocols.
- Manage patient records, update dental charts accurately, and maintain electronic health records (EHR).
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and guide them through the check-in and check-out processes.
- Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide detailed post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program is preferred.
- Certification or Licensure as a Dental Assistant (RDA) and Radiography certification for Arizona is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages.
- Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and electronic health records.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including assisting with chair adjustments.
