Responsibilities
- Assist the Dentist: Provide chair-side assistance during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for procedures, take vital signs, and ensure patient comfort throughout their visit.
- Radiography: Capture and process dental X-rays (intraoral and extraoral) accurately.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict sterilization protocols and cross-infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment.
- Record Management: Maintain and update patient dental records and treatment histories efficiently.
- Education: Educate patients on post-operative care, oral hygiene, and preventative dental health.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Dental Assistant certification (RDA) or graduation from an accredited dental assisting program.
- Licensure: Valid state license to practice dental assisting in Texas.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a dental setting is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and modern dental equipment.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
