Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to strict infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) as directed by the dentist.
- Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and tracking treatment plans.
- Greet patients and guide them through the check-in and check-out process.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the treatment rooms and waiting area.
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Assistant (DA) in Kentucky is required.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus but not required.
