Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental examinations and treatments, ensuring comfort and privacy.
- Assist the dentist during procedures, accurately passing instruments and maintaining a clear line of sight.
- Take and develop intraoral and extraoral X-rays using digital radiography equipment.
- Maintain strict sterilization and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment.
- Manage patient records, update dental histories, and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
- Stock and maintain dental supplies and ensure operatories are ready for the next patient.
Qualifications
- Current Florida State Dental Assistant License (or eligibility to obtain).
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program (graduation date required).
- Proficiency in radiology (X-ray) and infection control procedures.
- CPR and First Aid certification (BLS preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.
