Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments and equipment before patient exams.
- Assist the dentist during procedures, including handing instruments and maintaining a clear field of vision.
- Take and develop dental x-rays (radiographs) and perform other diagnostic tests as directed.
- Prepare patients for exams and educate them on proper oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage patient records, including updating dental charts and maintaining accurate inventory of supplies.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program or equivalent experience.
- Current certification or eligibility to obtain Radiology (RHS/DANB) certification.
- CPR/BLS Certification (American Heart Association).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dexis) is a plus.
