Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and cosmetic treatments
- Perform chairside duties: instrument transfer, suction, and patient positioning
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Manage sterilization protocols and infection control standards
- Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and materials for procedures
- Deliver patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate digital patient records using Dentrix/Eaglesoft
- Coordinate scheduling and inventory management for dental supplies
Qualifications
- Active Missouri Dental Assistant certification or DANB certification
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Proficiency in digital radiography and intraoral cameras
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance protocols
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Experience with dental practice management software
- High school diploma or equivalent required
