Responsibilities
- Chair-Side Assistance: Provide expert support to the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Patient Care: Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and prepare them for treatment in a calming and professional manner.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to strict sterilization and disinfection protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient dental records, including X-rays and treatment histories.
- Front Desk Support: Manage appointment scheduling, answer phone calls, and assist with check-in/check-out processes.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock dental supplies and instruments to ensure the practice runs efficiently.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
- Certification: Current Dental Assistant certification (CDA/RDA) or graduation from a CODA-accredited program.
- CPR Certification: Must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a general dentistry practice is strongly preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dexis) and radiography.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
