Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to strict safety protocols.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures with chairside support.
- Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) and perform other diagnostic tests.
- Greet patients, review medical histories, and ensure patient comfort.
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update dental software systems.
- Manage infection control procedures and maintain a clean clinic environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Valid North Carolina Dental Assistant license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Proficiency with dental software and digital radiography is a plus.
