Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist and hygienist during examinations, procedures, and surgeries with precision and efficiency.
- Diagnostics: Perform accurate intraoral and extraoral X-rays using digital imaging technology.
- Preparation: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and arrange instruments and materials required for dental procedures.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to OSHA and CDC guidelines to ensure a sterile and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, explain procedures, and provide post-operative instructions to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, charts, and treatment histories.
- Lab Duties: Assist with taking impressions, fabricating temporary crowns, and pouring models.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) or DANB Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification.
- Licensure: Valid and active Texas state dental assistant license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry or cosmetic dentistry setting.
- Skills: Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) and modern imaging equipment.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Professionalism: High standard of personal grooming and professional appearance.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, organized, and able to work well under pressure.
