Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, cosmetic, and surgical treatments
- Perform dental radiography and develop high-quality diagnostic images
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and sterilize instruments/equipment
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and digital charting systems
- Deliver patient education on oral hygiene and post-procedure care
- Manage inventory and ordering of dental supplies
- Coordinate seamless patient flow and appointment scheduling
- Assist in emergency dental situations with calm professionalism
Qualifications
- Accredited Dental Assistant program certification (CODA or DANB preferred)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Current NJ Dental Assistant radiology certification
- Proficiency in digital imaging (Dexis, Sirona) and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification (maintained current)
- Exceptional communication skills and chairside manner
- Ability to multitask efficiently in high-volume practice
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance protocols
