Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA and CLIA regulations
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic documentation
- Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Ensure proper specimen handling, storage, and transportation protocols
- Provide exceptional patient communication and comfort during procedures
- Collaborate with clinical team to optimize workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture procedures
- CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- Proficiency in LIS/HIS systems and electronic documentation
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and patient empathy
- Strong attention to detail and infection control compliance
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical settings
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
