Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count and document surgical instruments, sponges, and sharps
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Manage surgical equipment sterilization and maintenance
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for surgical processes
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in general surgery
- BLS certification and current state license
- Proficiency in sterile processing and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
