Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to sterilization protocols and OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe environment.
- Radiography: Perform and develop intraoral and extraoral X-rays accurately and efficiently.
- Patient Management: Greet patients, update medical histories, and prepare them for treatment.
- Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Inventory: Monitor and order dental supplies, ensuring the clinic is always fully stocked.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and treatment charts.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent on-the-job training.
- Licensure: Current DANB certification or state dental assisting license.
- CPR: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical dental assisting experience preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in 4-handed dentistry and digital charting software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
