Responsibilities
- Assist the Dentist: Provide chair-side assistance during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Digital Radiography: Capture and process intraoral and extraoral dental X-rays accurately.
- Patient Management: Greet patients, update medical histories, and prepare treatment rooms for procedures.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to sterilization protocols and OSHA standards to maintain a safe environment.
- Oral Health Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
- Lab Work: Take impressions, pour models, and fabricate temporary crowns as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Certificate or Associate degree in Dental Assisting required.
- Licensure: Current DANB or state licensure (or eligibility) required.
- CPR Certification: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: 1+ years of clinical experience preferred; recent graduates with strong externship records are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
