Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and procedures with precision and efficiency.
- Instrument Preparation: Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment to ensure a safe and sterile environment.
- Patient Management: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and guide them through the check-in process.
- Diagnostics: Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) and assist with digital imaging as needed.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, treatment histories, and update dental charts.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization and infection control protocols.
- Patient Education: Provide post-treatment instructions and answer patient questions regarding oral hygiene.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Dental Assistant certification (CDA) or RDA preferred.
- Licensing: State X-ray license required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a dental setting is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental).
- Soft Skills: A friendly demeanor, empathy, and a strong commitment to patient care.
