Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments and equipment according to strict hygiene protocols.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Take and develop digital and traditional X-rays (Radiographs) as directed.
- Manage patient records, including updating charts, collecting insurance information, and verifying benefits.
- Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order materials as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions and alleviating anxiety.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred.
- Current Maryland State Dental Assistant License.
- 1+ years of experience in a dental setting is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
