Responsibilities
- Chair-side Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures with a focus on 4-handed dentistry and efficiency.
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, explain treatment plans, and ensure a comfortable dental experience.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including dental charts and treatment histories.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to sterilization protocols and OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe environment.
- Radiography: Perform and process dental X-rays while adhering to safety regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and order dental supplies and materials as needed.
- Lab Duties: Assist with fabrication of temporary crowns and impressions for study models.
Qualifications
- Education: Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program is preferred.
- Licensure: Current Virginia State Dental Assistant license and Radiography license are required.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification and/or NELDA (National Entry Level Dental Assistant) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical dental assisting experience is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) and strong communication skills.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, reliable, and a team player with a positive attitude.
