Responsibilities
- Assist the lead dentist and hygienist during examinations, treatments, and procedures with precision and efficiency.
- Prepare treatment rooms, ensuring instruments, materials, and equipment are sterilized and organized.
- Take and develop high-quality dental X-rays (radiographs) and digital images as directed.
- Manage infection control protocols, including sterilization procedures and maintaining a clean clinical environment.
- Explain post-operative care instructions and oral hygiene techniques to patients to ensure optimal recovery.
- Manage patient records, update charts accurately, and assist with insurance verification and billing.
- Greet patients warmly, manage the reception area, and coordinate with the front office team to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) and valid California Dental Assistant license required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and clinical procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on infection control and safety standards.
