Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, cosmetic, and surgical treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following OSHA protocols
- Take dental radiographs and perform chairside assistance with digital imaging systems
- Manage patient charts and electronic health records using Eaglesoft software
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions
- Order inventory and maintain dental supply chain efficiency
- Coordinate with insurance companies on treatment plans and claims
Qualifications
- Active DANB certification or Virginia Dental Assistant license
- 2+ years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with digital radiography (Dexis, Sirona) and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and sterilization procedures
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced clinical environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
