Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive phone and chat triage assessments for incoming patient inquiries.
- Evaluate patient symptoms, medical history, and current condition to determine appropriate level of care.
- Provide evidence-based medical advice and recommend appropriate next steps (e.g., self-care, home remedies, ER visit).
- Accurately document all triage interactions and patient data into electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and front desk staff to ensure seamless patient transitions.
- Follow strict protocols and guidelines to ensure patient safety and legal compliance.
- Handle high call volumes with patience, empathy, and professional composure.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a triage, urgent care, or emergency room setting.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient education.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong focus on patient satisfaction and care.
