Responsibilities
- Operatory Preparation: Set up and sterilize dental instruments and prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
- Clinical Assistance: Assist the dentist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
- Digital Radiography: Take and process digital X-rays (panoramic and periapical) and maintain accurate imaging records.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines regarding sterilization, disinfection, and cross-contamination prevention.
- Patient Management: Greet patients, update health histories, and educate them on post-operative care and oral hygiene.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and order dental supplies and materials to ensure the clinic operates efficiently.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current DANB Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state-licensed Dental Assistant.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a general dentistry practice is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or OpenDental.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
