Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument preparation, suctioning, and patient monitoring
- Perform sterilization and maintenance of dental equipment and operatory areas
- Take and develop dental radiographs with proper safety protocols
- Manage patient scheduling and digital charting using Dentrix/Epic systems
- Provide chairside support during restorative and cosmetic procedures
- Administer infection control protocols exceeding OSHA standards
- Train new staff on practice workflows and patient care standards
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or X-ray license in New Jersey
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a general dental practice
- Proficiency with digital radiography and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance requirements
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- CPR/BLS certification from accredited institution
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in fast-paced settings
