Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and surgical treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials according to infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and patient safety
- Manage patient scheduling, recall systems, and digital chart documentation
- Provide chairside assistance with suctioning, instrument transfer, and material mixing
- Perform lab tasks such as pouring models, fabricating temporary crowns, and trimming prosthetics
- Deliver post-procedure instructions and ensure patient comfort throughout appointments
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or X-ray license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with digital imaging software (Dentrix/Eaglesoft preferred)
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail in infection control and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of dental terminology and instruments
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
