Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and surgical treatments
- Manage patient education and comfort protocols before, during, and after treatments
- Perform precise dental radiography (X-rays) and maintain accurate digital imaging records
- Sterilize and maintain all dental instruments according to OSHA/CDC guidelines
- Oversee inventory management for dental supplies and materials
- Coordinate seamless patient flow between exam rooms and treatment areas
- Utilize Eaglesoft practice management software for appointment scheduling and billing
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-recognized)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Current CPR/BLS certification and radiology certification
- Proficiency in digital radiography and dental practice management software
- Exceptional communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to maintain composure during emergency procedures
- Strong attention to detail in sterilization protocols and infection control
- Virginia state dental radiography permit
