Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative treatments, oral surgeries, and cosmetic dentistry
- Perform chairside duties including instrument transfer, suction management, and four-handed dentistry
- Manage infection control protocols including sterilization, equipment maintenance, and OSHA compliance
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with digital imaging systems
- Oversee patient intake, medical history updates, and treatment documentation
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and equipment for efficient clinical workflows
- Provide post-procedure instructions and patient education on oral hygiene
- Assist in practice management tasks including inventory control and supply ordering
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a general or specialty dental practice
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix)
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and OSHA regulations
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to create patient rapport
- CPR/BLS certification (current or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
