Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently according to established protocols.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct stock counts, and order pharmaceutical supplies in a timely manner.
- Verify patient information, review medication history, and counsel patients on proper usage and potential side effects.
- Assist the Pharmacist in compounding, packaging, and labeling medications.
- Ensure strict compliance with state and federal regulations, HIPAA policies, and hospital procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Process insurance claims and handle cash transactions accurately.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligible to obtain certification (PTCB or ExCPT).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems (e.g., Rx30, Epic) is a plus.
- Valid Tennessee Pharmacy Technician license.
