Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws with precision, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Greet patients warmly, explain procedures clearly, and maintain a professional, compassionate demeanor at all times.
- Label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols, OSHA standards, and laboratory safety regulations.
- Manage phlebotomy station inventory, restock supplies, and ensure the work area is organized and clean.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to facilitate timely specimen processing for patient diagnosis.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT, ASCP, or equivalent) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a high-volume setting.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
