Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to patients including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance
- Monitor vital signs and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper techniques
- Document patient observations and care activities accurately in medical records
- Support patients with emotional needs and maintain a positive care environment
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care
- Maintain clean and organized patient areas and equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Current Nebraska CNA certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and infection control protocols
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Strong communication skills and empathy for elderly or disabled patients
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
