Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Accurately document patient information in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Perform basic laboratory tests and phlebotomy procedures following safety protocols
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and maintain exam room inventory
- Administer medications and immunizations under provider supervision
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate referrals and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or certification preferred
- CPR certification required (will provide training if needed)
- Basic computer proficiency with EHR systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced clinical environments
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Valid Illinois Driver's License for potential travel between facilities
